Within our platform, all assignments will have a default point value assigned. You can adjust the total point value of any assignment as well as the point value of each question.

How to Adjust the Total Point Value of an Assignment

  1. Once logged in, users will select their course and select the assignment they would like to adjust the point value.

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand navigation.

  3. Here, users can edit the point value of the total assignment and Select Save Changes.

  4. Alternatively, if users are within the Gradebook, they can select the gear icon next to the assignment. This will also take users to adjust the point value of the assignment.

Please be aware, changing the grade calculation method for your class will result in the re-calculation of student grades.

-Points-Based with Weighted Categories Assignments inside a category are weighted based on their total points. Across categories, grades are calculated using a weighted average with category weights determined by their percentages.
-Points-Based Assignments inside the entire course are weighted based on their total points. Categories are purely informational and do not affect any student grades.
-Weighted Average (Legacy) Assignments inside a category are not weighted. Instead, the percentage grade of each assignment submission is averaged together. Across categories, grades are calculated using a weighted average.
