Creating and Placing a Quiz Vault Assignment

Custom Quiz Vault assignments are great for Pre-Test/Post-Test, Unit Exams, and custom assessments. Like other content, they can be added from the blue Add Content drop-down menu at the top of the Course Outline page. Click Add Content, Test/Quiz, then place the assignment where desired. Within the assignment page, click Edit, then mark the checkbox for This is a Quiz Vault Assignment, and refresh the page.

Customizing a Quiz Vault Assignment

Once created, the Quiz Vault tab shows five presets to choose from:

  1. Use our recommended exam. Includes a standard set of quiz questions chosen by BusinessU and our partners. Covers all standards, whether or not you skipped them in class.

  2. Use our recommended exam, but only the content you covered. Includes a subset of quiz questions chosen by BusinessU and our partners. Covers most standards, and only includes questions related to the content you covered.

  3. Use all questions from the content you covered. Includes the entire bank of available quiz questions, only including questions related to the content you covered.

  4. Use all questions available. Includes the entire bank of available quiz questions, regardless of whether you covered them or not.

  5. Choose questions manually. Start with a blank slate! Pick and choose questions you want to add to your exam, one by one. Allows for creating an exam completely tailored to your students.

Once a preset is selected, the assignment shows a list of questions, filters, and features for a more convenient teacher view.

  1. Tags: Questions include tags for Covered, Recommended, and Assignment Reference (ex 1-9 Lesson Quiz).

  2. Enable/Disable: Notice the enable/disable toggle on the right side of the page, indicating if a question will be included in the assessment or not.

  3. Number of Questions: The top right of the Quiz Vault page shows the number of questions selected, while the top left shows all questions found. Click from (#) assignments to narrow the scope of assignments the Quiz Vault is pulling from. Check boxes next to semester, topic, and lesson show where questions will be pulled from.

  4. Enable All • Disable All • Randomize: Quickly select/deselect all questions in the current view for use with Enable/Disable All. The question order on the assessment will be as seen on the Quiz Vault page. Click the six dots on the left and drag questions to reorder them, or select Randomize to shuffle the order of all questions.

As questions are enabled and disabled, the assignment will automatically save. At any time, the live assessment can be seen on the Teacher Information and Student View pages.

Adding Custom Questions

A teacher may desire to add questions from outside of BusinessU's content to their Quiz Vault assignment. Keep in mind that Quiz Vault assignments only use multiple choice and matching questions, no free-response questions.

By default, Quiz Vault assignments pull from questions within the course. Adding questions to the course will allow for those questions to be used. Our team recommends manually adding these questions into a Custom Test/Quiz. Follow the steps for Adding Custom Content, add the questions, then include that assignment in the Quiz Vault scope of assignments by clicking from (#) assignments in the top left of the Quiz Vault page. Once selected, the questions will be available to toggle "on".
